Meet the coral family

I turned one polyp into a family.

I am Mother. I grew from a tiny beginning into a colony of connected polyps, sharing food, shelter, and space.

A cup for you. A cup for the reef.

Stage two - Mother

My colony becomes a nursery.

I am made from many individual polyps, all working as one. As we grow, our living structure offers refuge to fish, crabs, and countless other reef neighbors.

A healthy coral colony does more than survive. It creates the conditions for new life to take hold and flourish.

Why coral matters

A coral colony is a family of tiny animals.

Mother coral shows what happens after a single polyp gets established. Hundreds, thousands, and eventually millions of small polyps live side by side, creating the formations we call coral and making room for reef life to return.

These colonies share more than space. They react to changing light and water conditions, and coral species can coordinate their annual spawning so new generations have a chance to begin at the same time.

Supporting restoration is like supporting a growing family. One cup for you and a monthly cup for the reef helps protect the nursery habitat where coral polyps can keep building a stronger ocean community.

Coral communities make ocean communities.

Giving established colonies the support to grow helps an entire reef become more resilient.
